2018 Ford Escape S vs. SE

In this day and age, it's important to have a vehicle that can do it all. This is one of the many reasons why the crossover SUV remains the most popular vehicle on the U.S. market. If you're looking for a capable crossover with plenty of cargo space, high-tech features and a dynamic driving experience, then the 2018 Ford Escape is worth a closer look.

The powerful model has everything you need for any adventure thanks to a powerful engine under the hood, available all-wheel drive and a variety of entertainment and convenience technologies. How will you build your 2018 Ford Escape? Choose from four trims, including the S, SE, SEL and Titanium. Even the base-level S is packed with a generous array of features. With that said, should you choose the S or the SE? Here's a closer look at some of the many differences between the two.

Both the 2018 Ford Escape S and SE have a different engine under the hood, which translates into a unique driving experience. Automatic headlights, a 4.2-inch central display, Bluetooth, AppLink Smartphone integration, cruise control, a rearview camera and much more all come standard on both models. Moving up in trim to the SE adds even more features and capabilities, including dual-zone automatic climate control, sound-reducing window glass, a keyless entry keypad, heated front seats and satellite radio.

Unlike the S model, the SE is available with an optional Sport Appearance package that adds all-wheel drive, black-painted exterior trim, LED daytime running lights, paddle shifters, partial leather upholstery, black 19-inch wheels and much more. There is also an optional Sync 3 tech package with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Sync Connect, remote app services and onboard Wi-Fi.
